Pickup from your hotel will be between 6:00 and 6:30 am to begin this new adventure through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, which is made up of a great diversity of cultivated fields and picturesque villages that contrast perfectly with the snow-capped mountains and sacred mountains that have been venerated since times before the Incas.
CHINCHERO ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX
Chinchero will be the first attraction to visit on the Super Sacred Valley tour. It is located 28 km from the city of Cusco at 3,772 meters above sea level and has important archaeological sites, a beautiful colonial church from the 17th century with paintings from the “Cusco School”, and a typical market where you can still trade.
This small town focuses on traditional hand-woven textiles made by pure Andean women.
Moray Terraces and Maras Salt Mines
The next attraction to visit will be the circular agricultural terraces of Moray, which were once an experimental agricultural center. We’ll then head to the Maras Salt Mines, which contain more than 3,000 wells from which some of the finest salt in the world is extracted to date. We’ll then head to Urubamba to enjoy our buffet lunch at a traditional local restaurant, where we’ll sample the typical flavors of our region.
OLLANTAYTAMBO ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX
Next, we’ll head to the living Inca city of Ollantaytambo to appreciate its military fortress, which was built to protect the Sacred Valley from potential invaders.
PISAC ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX
We will conclude the tour by visiting the Pisaq Archaeological Site, a site with buildings that blend seamlessly with the beauty of the Andean landscape.
We’ll also be at the colorful Pisaq market, where you can browse through handicrafts and textiles.
Finally, we will return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m. Our transportation will take us to the city center or, if available, to your hotel.
