We, my wife and I, did a 4 day trekking with Ibrahim and the horseman Nolberto. Ibrahim was great: showed us the most beautiful places on the trekking, cooked wonderfully and specifically to our wishes, and Nolberto even more or less „ran“ the additional 4.5 hours to see the rainbow mountains. A unique experience we won’t forget! Thank You Ausangate Trek Agency

Amazing trek! We did a 4 days hike around the Ausangate mountain and it worth every second. Be sure to take a lot of warming equipment and waterproof coats against snow and rain.
After the walk, relax in the natural thermal baths.

Day 4AGUAS CALIENTES-MACHU PICCHU-CUSCO

Today we arrive at the long-awaited end of our hike, one of the New 7 Wonders of the Modern World and UNESCO World Heritage Site: Machu Picchu! We’ll wake up early after a refreshing night at our lodge to beat the crowds to the top of Machu Picchu and enjoy its serenity under the soft morning light. The entrance control to Machu Picchu is open from 06:00 am to 17:00 pm. Here we will have a 2-hour guided tour through this incredible ancient city. Be amazed by the engineering ingenuity of the Incas, which was so ahead of its time and which is still partially a mystery today! Without having modern tools or even steel and iron to work with, the people who built this city were brilliant at organizing this community in a beautiful and sustainable way on the side of a mountain, even carrying water through canals through its streets to that people would use it. wear.

When a Peruvian guide showed this site to Hiram Bingham, it was almost unrecognizable, covered in thick vegetation and in poor condition. It has since been cleaned and restored and is now protected and treasured by the world at large.

After this tour, you will be able to climb Huayna Picchu (the top of the mountain we see in all the Machu Picchu photos; 2720 MASL/8890 FASL) or Machu Picchu Mountain (Be sure to book in advance to get tickets for these!) . The hike to Huayna Picchu is a 50-minute walk up and 50 minutes down. Machu Picchu mountain takes approximately 3 hours to climb and descend.

If you come down early enough, you can have lunch (not included but can be added to the package), visit the town’s hot springs, go to a museum or shop at the artisan market. We will take our train trip at 16:22 hrs (subject to availability) to Ollantaytambo. A private bus will pick up our group and drop you off  in Cusco at approximately 8:00 p.m.
