Ausangate Trek 5 Days Tour Details

The 5 Day Ausangate Trek stands out as one of the most breathtaking and challenging hiking adventures in the Cusco region. This incredible journey takes you around Apu Ausangate, the highest and most revered mountain in southern Peru, showcasing stunning high Andean landscapes, untouched nature, and a genuine cultural experience deep within the Andes.

As you trek along the path, you’ll come across large herds of alpacas and llamas, cared for by Quechua-speaking communities who are dedicated to preserving their rich traditions. The views are nothing short of spectacular, with vibrant glacial lakes, towering snow-capped peaks, massive glaciers, and fascinating Andean wildlife making Ausangate one of the most visually captivating trekking routes in Peru.

Considered one of the toughest treks in the country, the Ausangate Trek takes you over three high mountain passes that soar above 5,000 meters (16,400 feet). On clear days, the majestic Ausangate peak (6,380 m / 20,926 ft) commands the skyline, serving as a powerful reminder of why the Incas held this mountain in such high regard as a sacred guardian. This trek is perfect for adventurous souls looking for an unforgettable high-altitude experience amidst remote and awe-inspiring landscapes.
