Your adventure begins early with hotel pickup in Cusco at 3:30 – 4:00 AM. Travel 3.5 hours by private vehicle to the village of Cachora, where we stop 30–45 minutes for a traditional breakfast. Then continue by bus to Capuliyoc, the trekking starting point.
The trek starts with a 2.5-hour descent (7 km) to Chiquisca, set in a valley with stunning Andean views. After a hearty lunch, continue 4.5 hours (8 km) to Marampata, a challenging but rewarding trail with panoramic views of the Apurímac Canyon. Finally, arrive at Choquequirao Sanctuary Lodge, a private lodge with comfortable accommodation and a delicious dinner, perfect for resting after the day’s trek.
After a buffet breakfast, start the 2-hour hike to Choquequirao, guided by our expert local guide. Explore key sectors such as Llamas Sector, Usno Ceremonial, and Religious Zone, while learning about Inca engineering, rituals, and culture.
Choquequirao sits 1,500 meters above the Apurímac Canyon, and only one-third of the site has been excavated, making each visit a unique exploration experience.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the ruins, then descend to the Pajchayoc Waterfall, passing cliffs, crystal-clear rivers, and native flora. Return to Marampata Lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Start early around 5:00 AM with a light snack before descending to Chiquisca, where we have breakfast at 7:00 AM. After a short break, continue trekking to Capuliyoc, the end of the trail, celebrating the completion of this unforgettable adventure with a light refreshment.
From Capuliyoc, private transport returns you to Cusco, concluding your 3-day Choquequirao trek.
