If you’re up for it, there’s also an optional horseback ride to the lake.

Your Humantay Lake Full Day Tour starts with an early pickup from your Cusco hotel between 4:00–4:30 AM. We drive 2 hours to Mollepata, where you’ll enjoy a traditional breakfast and can purchase snacks or drinks for the trek.
From Mollepata, we continue 1 hour to Soraypampa, the trailhead of the hike. The moderate 1 hour 40 minute ascent brings you to Humantay Lake at 4,200 meters (13,780 ft), offering stunning views of the turquoise lake and the sacred Salkantay Mountain. Here, you’ll have time for photography, meditation, and enjoying the breathtaking scenery.
After the summit, we descend for 1 hour back to the transport, then drive to Mollepata for lunch. Finally, we return to Cusco, arriving around 5:00 PM.
