The full-day tour to the Uros Floating Islands and Taquile Island begins with a convenient hotel pick-up in Puno at 7:00 AM. From there, we transfer to the pier to board a comfortable boat for an unforgettable journey across the majestic Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Along the way, enjoy spectacular Andean landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
Our first stop is the Uros Floating Islands, a fascinating network of man-made islands crafted entirely from totora reeds. During a two-hour cultural visit, you will learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Uros people, their ancestral customs, and the ingenious construction techniques that have preserved these islands for centuries. You will also have the opportunity to interact with local inhabitants, hear their stories, and gain insight into their unique culture and identity.
After this cultural immersion, we continue by boat to Taquile Island, one of the most culturally rich islands on Lake Titicaca. Inhabited for thousands of years, the Taquileños speak Quechua and have maintained their traditional lifestyle and world-renowned textile craftsmanship passed down through generations.
Upon arrival, you will disembark at the lower port of the island and climb over 567 steps to reach the town of Taquile. At the top, you are greeted with breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and a charming stone gateway, welcoming you to one of Peru’s most authentic and exclusive destinations. Explore the island, interact with local artisans, and witness traditional weaving techniques firsthand.
After exploring Taquile Island, enjoy a delicious traditional lunch, included in the tour. Then, we board the boat to return to Puno, arriving around 4:00 PM, concluding this unforgettable cultural and scenic tour.
